Introduction

In this paper I am going to address three topics. These topics are as follows: Analytical Skill Building, Knowledge Acquisition and Practical Application. I am going to briefly describe my opinion and provide the details about the subject at hand. I am going demonstrate how these topics have affected me and what I learned about them. In this paper there is going to be a demonstration of how I feel ethics applies to me.

Analytical Skill Building:

To what extent has your work in this course helped you to improve your critical reading, writing, and thinking skills?

In this Ethics course I learned many different things that were new to me. I was able to sharpen my skills like analytical thinking, writing, reading, and online correspondence. We were instructed to read case studies and then express opinions based our own experience, text book reading, and on-line research. I noticed that our book materials were closely related to our discussion and debate forums. After we read these case studies, we then created our own opinions and submitted them in the discussion board. We would then express our feelings in these forums. We would argue what we thought was right and how we would change the outcome and what we would do differently. The hardest part about this class was keeping up with the discussion and debate forums, but they were also fun. Reading the responses that my classmates had written was the best part.

A great example of analytical thinking was in a discussion board where we were asked to reply to a question on morality and return ethical facts:

Question: Are there certain moral absolutes that we all should live by?

Do emotions have a place in determining what is ethical and what isn’t?
