FROM:       Expansion Team

DATE:        April 17, 2013

SUBJECT: Social and Business Customs of China

This is the report that you requested on April 1, 2013 about the social and business customs of China.

China has been an expanding market and area of interest for our company for sometime. As you know, we have recently begun our queries into the possibility of opening up a business in the very versatile Chinese economy. But, our company first needs to understand the many cultural differences that exist and opportunities for growth that are available.

The main components that were investigated are the taboos of China, body language differences, business etiquette and consumption growth of the Chinese economy. These are all important factors if we are to be successful in China and it’s important that all of our employees receive the proper training before doing business in China. Every person must be familiar with Chinese customs so as to not agitate potential business partners and give us a greater chance for success.

There was tremendous collaboration in the creation of the report and I must give gratitude to the members of the team: Deanne Tiplady, Brian Phaup, and Violet Wang. This report would not be possible if not for them.

Thank you for entrusting our team with this project; I know it has been a learning experience for us all. Please call or email any team member if you have any questions.
