Resistance to change and how to overcome it…
Many people resist making any changes because they are afraid it may interrupt their lifestyle, daily routines, habits, etc. Changing a routine may become very stressful and hard on a person because they were used to something for so long. Change is good but not always because change can affect a person ability to focus and learn. Depending on the type of change, a person may be able to deal with small changes with no problem but a drastic change may be difficult to get used to and make a habit of.
There are four basic reactions to change acceptance, tolerance, resistance, and rejection. Accepting a change is harder for some people because they may not want the change but have to deal with it due to their job or way of living. Tolerating change can be difficult as well because it may not be a change you agree with or want to deal with but you have to for certain reasons. Rejecting change may be the easiest way to avoid it but it may not be the best decision. Resisting a change can cause more stress and aggravation because you may fear that the change is bad, but it may be good and the person is afraid to accept it.
How does change impact people in different ways?
Change can impact people in different ways by affecting or bettering their health, changing their way of living, the people surrounding them and maybe the way they live their life. A person who is used to a specific routine and schedule and has to drastically change it may become aggravated, ill, and can possibly change the person’s attitude towards other. People are not always willing to make change, much less accept a change. A person who wants a change will make that decision when necessary and when they are completely ready for it.
