Google Inc., is a global technology company. The Company’s business is primarily focused around key areas such as search, advertising, operating systems and platforms, enterprise and hardware products. The Company generates revenue primarily by delivering online advertising, selling hardware products, also by providing its products and services in more than 100 languages and in more than 50 countries, regions, and territories. But Google is mostly known for integrating features into its search service and offers specialized search to help users tailor their search.

Google undoubtedly has one of the most well documented cultures. It’s far different from most corporate cultures. From the looks of the pictures inside the Googleplex, it looks more like a playground for adults instead of a work place. Google’s culture can be directly connected with the company’s success. For instance Google has people on the payroll whose only job is to keep employees happy and continue to drive productivity. To truly understand Googles culture you have to understand the hiring process.

Google receives about 2.5 million applications a year, they evaluate each one. If you’re lucky enough to get an interview you will receive questions like:

“How many golf balls can fit in a school bus?”

“There are 8 balls. Seven of them weigh the same, but one is heavier. Using a balance scale, how do you find the heavier ball with just two weighing?”

Google uses these type of questions to screen prospective candidates. They are not worried about getting the right answer but more so with your thought process. They are looking for smart thoughtful candidates that can think outside of the box and under pressure....
