We start selling Macintosh Computer “Apple” since 1994. Retail is our core business. I totally understand how importance of staff behavior, how to motivate the staff to complete your tasks, to achieve better results. That’s a job as a manager.

Nowadays, the teenager always said overworked or underpaid. They just talking about the salary whether match market price or not. They will not concern how many efforts or contributions they did.

For retail business, the working hours is always longer than other career. So, we need to pay more to compromises on overtime, this is reasonable. But today young people not just need to get “reasonable” salary. They also need to work for fun, no need show me the future. So, career path is no need in interview.

Even, you hired a good staff, have heart to do, willing to learn. Someday they feeling bad, no matter how good they are at hiring. They will show you all bad attitude. No more greeting to customer, they will not serve customer even customer request. If you try to expand to them, don’t bring personal issues to come to work. They should separate personal life from their work. But, they will say they just a human being, have feeling for sure. As management level should understand.

But, if you don’t address the reason, this bad attitude will be spread throughout the team, affecting teamwork, our customer experience, finally affect the sales (money). This is a main reason, they aren’t even aware that their attitude is affecting the shop, and many of them don’t even know what they are doing to cause a negative impact.

Nowadays, the young people keep asking “WHY”. Why I need to do this? Why someone no need to do that? Why I need to do this in that way? Why I can’t use my way?
