Introduction

The Diamondback Saloon was once a small country bar in Belleville, MI that has doubled in size in the last few years and is now the largest country nightclub in the state. The doors first opened in 1990 and now the Diamondback Saloon is recognized at a national level. It has kept its country format which is why I believe that is a reason for its stability in the market. In 1999, it was purchased by the new owners whom had a new vision for it. They wanted to build it bigger and really make it shine. The Diamondback Saloon welcomes people from all over and even has a stage for performances which has added on to the popularity of the venue (About the Diamondback Saloon, 2009)

Although the Diamondback Saloon has grown from 6,000 Square feet to 20,000 square feet, management is still trying to figure out all of the kinks in running a large company like this. When it was first purchased, the management team consisted of the three owners, a general manager and a shift manager. Since 1990, the teams have continuously changed. They have added and removed positions such as office manager, floor manager, security manager, and marketing manager. The owners regularly examine and implement new and different management styles, trying to find the perfect fit for their success.

The owners are currently relaying output goals to the rest of the team which consists of a General Manager, Shift Manager, Office Manager, and Head of Security. This team will use these goals with their own goals in order to remain successful. There is often a decentralized approach to decisions made by management because of the owners running other organizations as well as this one.
