Great man theory is conceptual theory based on leaders are not made they are born with favorable traits and qualities which permit them to overcome obstacles and be successful leaders. Great leaders have faith, self-confidence, and persistence, seek challenges instead of the easy route, and are optimist. They are natural leaders with charisma and wisdom and intuition. They have no formal training and surface during crisis such as war. Only men were able to lead and gender bias makes this a weakness for the theory.
