Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill, NC-SC - Charlotte, NC - For the ninth straight year, Charlotte is hosting the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, CIAA, Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament, beginning today through Saturday, March 1.

Fans from all 12 CIAA schools in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and across the great state of North Carolina will be converging on the Time Warner Cable Arena for a week of high-speed hoops action, while other events and celebrity appearances will be taking place at the Charlotte Convention Center.

The week will be marked by free concerts from performers like Regina Belle and Monica to star appearances by Morris Chestnut and everybody's favorite Cosby kid, Malcolm Jamal Warner.

"We want to welcome all the players, their coaches and families, and especially the CIAA fans to Charlotte," said Helmi Felfel, owner and president of Planet Automotive Group and Planet Mitsubishi.
