what is leader? Leader is the people to lead other people to done the work and influence they to get motivation,The leadership style is mean how the leader to manage the worker and how the manager using what ways to motivation and increase perfomance of worker. The leadership style can be differencing as two kind, one is task oriented and another one is relationship oriented.

The Great Eastern company believes strongly in the personal development of its staff,this philosophy create a pleasant working environment of trust and respec among all Great Eastern. This is the relationship oriented.

Can susie choose the leadership style? In my opinian is cannot, cause susie is replacing a retiring Great Eastern manager,Jasmin Teh already spend 14 year as a policy-renewal assistant department manager, whole department cleck already familiar with the leadership style of Jasmin Teh, if suddenly change a leadership style will let the cleck become no much efficiency, susie also has spend few week under this leadership style, so for susie he also familiar with this leadership style,for her this leadership style is the most effective ways to manage the department.

The Great Eastern are using moderate style to manage the company,this kind of company worker will more concentrate on personal relationship,teamwork, group achievements.their task structure is low and the position power is weak.we can use the contingency theory to explain this situation, under this theory, susie are using a participating situation leadership function and got mix little with enpowerment function.

The participating situation leadership is leader shared decision-making about aspects of how the task is accomplished and the leader is providing less task behaviours while maintaining high relationship behavior. Under this leadership style, worker will having good relationship between leader,the group achivement will be high.
