With the advancement of the technology, the use of the electronic health records has been in limelight in the recent years. But these days, it is being continuously being deployed from the services to deliver the quality care to the patients and also to ensure safety to them. The clinicians should be only using the electronic health records but the limiting the use only to them is a major hurdle in the practical world. The time efficiency is one of the prime concerns which are not at all allowing the electronic system to be obsoleted. The duration of the clinical diagnosis becomes easier, if there is the availability of the electronic records. The direct care is generally provided to the patients by the clinicians and the quality care delivered to the patients is likely to get increased in case of the electronic health records.

The assessment of the files of the patient is important both from the legal aspects and also the routine clinical activity. Since the documentation time is getting reduces, the clinicians will find it an efficient system. So some studies consider the reduction of the documentation time as the prime issue and the better and rapid quality care to the patients as the secondary issue. The successful implementation of the electronic health records is mainly based on the increased time for the documentation.

When the different methods were adopted for the measurement of the different data and it was found that while using the computer some studies reported the reduction in the time.
