Gun Control Summary

How we should have strict gun laws, because if we didn’t then anyone could buy a gun. For instance if we didn’t have a background check then anyone could buy a gun like a person that was in jail for murder could go and buy a gun. How we should also have laws on the sale of military style guns and also military type scopes. We should have people get permits in order to buy guns and they also need to get their firearm registered like how you register a car. Furthermore, despite what the gun lobby claims, most Americans are in favor of common-sense gun laws because they understand that such laws will, in fact, help reduce gun violence (Stronger Gun Control Laws Will Save Lives). That Federal laws regulate manufacture, sale or possession of firearm. How some states are already passing laws making it harder to but multiply guns in a month. United States has the highest rate of firearm deaths.

Commentary

The article uses both logical appeals to get you to believe that we need to change gun laws. A logical example is how 92% of respondents, including 91% of gun owners, favor mandatory criminal background checks for all gun purchasers (Stronger Gun Control Laws Will Save Lives). Another example is that the U.S. has the highest rate of firearm deaths among 25 high-income nations (Stronger Gun Control Laws Will Save Lives). The article has a lot of Bias through statics and crowd counts example “Far from keeping us safe, guns are used to kill more than 30,000 Americans each year and injure approximately 70,000” (Stronger Gun Control Laws Will Save Lives). The article is reliable because it is getting all of its information from a national public interest law center.
