I chose the following:

Leonardo de Vinci, Mona Lisa, c 1503-05 oil on wood

Giorgione (completed by Titian) sleeping Venus, c1510, oil on canvas

Titian, Venus of Urbino, c 1538, oil on canvas

Section A:

All three pieces of art focuses on the naturalism and the beauty of women who were of high standards or thought of as gods. It is of Venitian art in which has a emphasis on sensual lights, colors and the pleasures of the senses.

Leonardo de Vinci, Mona Lisa, c 1503-05 oil on wood- created from the notion that she was the wife of a prominent banker named Zanabi del Giocondo. Her natural beauty is a mystery as it is shown in shadows and blurs of the brush strokes. You see the shades of the dark shadows in the wilderness behind her and the clothing that she wears. The art work can be quite haunting.

Giorgione (completed by Titian) sleeping Venus, c1510, oil on canvas developed a style of painting that the subject has blurred edges and soften forms. He died of the plague prior to completion of this piece. This piece is thought to be of an elegant but sensual nature because the subject is gently sleeping.

Titian, Venus of Urbino, c 1538, oil on canvas- this was created 28 years later by titan after he was said to have complete Giorgione’s Sleeping Venus. He continued Giorgione’s style further by extending his brush strokes making the subject to appear more sensual and have more expressive ends. She is lying on crumpled sheets with the look of sexuality on her face.
