Preserving Mother Nature through 3R’s

This is the only world we’ve got. As a 1st Year student in the College of Hospitality Management, the information education campaign in the awareness for a good stewardship of the environment had been taught and imparted to us students especially in the Environmental Management subjects.

But how many of us personally had taken heed of how we protect mother nature, the distracting extreme changes of climate patterns re: severe storm downpour and the extremely hot temperatures during summer, the onslaught of calamities that brought a magnitude of damage in the life and properties and placed a heavy toll on human beings, notwithstanding the unregulated toxic fumes that have been emitted from industrial and manufacturing plants sending into the atmosphere and suspending carbon dioxide that adds up to more heat in the land thereby bringing more erratic changes in the climate, the fossil fuel that powered our vehicles contributes a significant CO2 in the atmosphere.

The accumulation of solid waste of the unregulated dumping in the waste stream occupies a vast land of dumpsite bringing unhealthy atmosphere for the residents including sickness and a shun in the international community, it clogs up waters ways, pollutes our pristine coral reefs, poisoning fishes and other edible creatures which then hampers reproduction, thus altering the food chain nature had for human beings. This is how we kill the earth we live in, the effects of irresponsible stewardship of nature.

In some small way an individual plays a big part in the care of our nature, the consciousness of disposing our garbage has an eventual cause and effect on our lives as a whole. The practice of 3R’s reduce, reuse & recycle, plays a big part in reducing solid waste that would flow in the waste stream or ending up later in the dumpsite.
