Summarizing and Presenting Data

In week two, Team B evaluated the surveyed data collected by Ballard Intergraded Managed Services, Inc. employee’s to determine the reasons for low morale and high employee turnover rate. In week three, Team B will summarize the data collected by using descriptive statistics in the form of charts and graphs.

Using surveys to gather data is a popular way for businesses to conduct research. Each form of statistical information allows a business to learn important information, such as employee job satisfaction. Recently Ballard Integrated Managed Services (BIMS) compiled a survey to determine why morale appeared to slip and the turnover rate increased. Using different graphs and charts, such as mean, median, mode, standard deviation, and proportion to explain the data collected helps explain the results to upper management.

Finding the mean for the survey scores involves discovering the average of the results from the accumulated employees’ responses from questions one through ten. According to the results, the average employees’ feelings for enjoying his or her job ranks in the negative to neutral sections of the graph. In addition, the employees rank in the negative potion of enjoying the assigned shifts and do not have fulfillment of the request with hours. On the other hand, the number of sick calls maintains a low-level from the responses, which is a positive outlook for BIMS. However, the employees’ responses have an average of negative responses ranging in high numbers for the satisfaction of pay, fair treatment, communication, and the fear of losing his or her job. Therefore, the mean for the employees’ survey responses are of negative responses and very few employees have a positive outlook of the company’s structure, which focuses on the staff’s happiness.
