 2.  Describe the difference between transactional and analytical information, and determine which types Actionly uses to create a customer’s digital dashboard. 

Transactional information indicates the information contained within a single business process or unit of work, which can support the performance of daily operational or structured decisions (Baltzan, 2012, p.54).

Analytical information encompasses all organizational information, which includes transactional information. The primary purpose of analytical information is to support the performance of managerial analysis or semistructured decisions (Baltzan, 2012, p.55).

In my opinion, Actionly should use analytical information to create a customer’s digital dashboard. Online analytical processing (OLAP) is the manipulation of information to create business intelligence in support of strategic decision making, and provide assistance in evaluating and choosing among different courses of action (Baltzan, 2012, p.55). OLAP allows Actionly to examine and manipulate large amounts of detailed data from different internal and external sources. Actionly can have some better ideas to create its customer’s digital dashboard with OLAP.

Web 1.0 (or Business 1.0) is a term to refer to the World Wide Web during its first few years of operation between 1991 and 2003 (Baltzan, 2012, p.96).

Web 2.0 (or Business 2.0) is the next generation of Internet use—a more mature, distinctive communications platform characterized by new qualities such as collaboration, sharing, and free. Business 2.0 encourages user participation and the formation of communities that contribute to the content. In Business 2.0, technical skills are no longer required to use and publish information to the World Wide Web, eliminating entry barriers for online business (Baltzan, 2012, p.109-110).
