The Five Pillars of Islam

The central belief of Islam is Monotheism which is the central theme of Islam the belief that there is only one God. The Five Pillars of Islam consists of first Shahada which is the Islamic proclamation that there is no true God except Allah and the Messenger of Allah Muhammad. The second Pillar is Prayer that involves confession of their sins that purifies the body and the soul. The third Pillar is Fasting which is no drinking, eating or sexual relations during the daylight hours for the entire month of Ramadan. The fourth Pillar is Zarat or Alms giving or charity. This act is given to the poor. By doing this you are helping the poor and it helps the person who is given to move toward holiness and a submission to Allah. The last Pillar of Islam is Hajj or Pilgrimage this pillar is a financial sacrifice and an act of worship. Muslims who follow the Five Pillars of Islam will remain true to the faith of Islam, and sincerely repents of his sins. They will make it to what they call paradise. The down fall of the belief is that if they perform the Five Pillars but do not remain in the faith, they will not be saved.

The Pillar I believe that would be easiest for me to follow is Hajj or Pilgrimage. I believe this would be easy for me because I am a very giving person. If someone needs something and I have it I give and if I don’t I will make it my business to call them when I do get it to make sure they don’t still need it. I don’t have much, but I am willing to sacrifice some things I already have to help out another.

The Pillar I believe that would be the hardest for me is fasting. I believe this to be hard for me because I have been in the position of not having and I know how that feeling fells. I would not want to put anyone in the position of not eating or drinking during the daylight for a month because that feels like a...
