Everyone Deserves a Chance

In my mind abortion is wrong, no matter what. If you don’t want the responsibility of having a baby then you shouldn’t have sex. The only way I would ever understand getting an abortion is if you’re raped, but I still don’t agree with it. Abortion isn’t the only option, there are people in the world that would do anything to be able to have a baby but they can’t. People loose their children every day and it just isn’t fair that people are just throwing their kids away. Not only is it murder, but it affects the woman physically and emotionally as well.

One of my main reasons why I don’t believe in abortion is because the Bible says it’s wrong to murder a person. Murder is the unlawful taking of some one’s life, while killing is the lawful way of taking some one’s life. Abortion is murder, there are many biblical passages forbidding murder.

The Bible teaches that the unborn is a person due to the following; the Bible uses personal pronouns to describe unborn children. Jeremiah 1:5 says “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.” The strongest argument against abortion is the fact that the same punishment is applicable to someone who kills or injures an unborn child as for the one who kills or injures an adult, which is stated in Exodus 21:22-23. This strongly indicates that the Mosaic Law viewed the unborn as persons worthy of the same protection and rights as adults.

I believe abortion is wrong, and the bible clearly backs me up. Since abortion is murdering a person, abortion is morally wrong. I personally think that everyone deserves to have a chance at life, no matter what the circumstances are.
