IDA 4: Interview Questions

For this assignment, I will go over four situational interview questions that would most likely be asked in an interview because I believe these are the hardest to answer in my opinion. Each answer to a situational interview questions should start off by stating the situation, then talking about the actions that the interview has taken and then the result/outcome of that situation.

1. Give me an example of a time when you showed initiative and took the lead.

Situation (or task/problem): For one of my group projects at Sheridan College, my group was not focused on our task which was to raise enough money to build a school in Sierra Leone; we had no idea what to do and how to get started and no one wanted to take charge so I took the initiative and I took lead and I became the leader.

Action Taken: I had taken charge by contacting the coordinator who was handling the money. I also arranged group meetings and assigned everyone tasks and duties and also arranged due dates to each tasks on when stuff were supposed to be handed in. I motivated the group to work together and come up with events where we could raise money.

Result/Outcome: Because I took lead and I was able to assign tasks and motivate the group we raised close to $800, which surpassed our goal of $400 and the team was able to be motivated, stay on focus and finish the tasks that were assigned to them.

2. Describe a time when you experienced a conflict with a co-worker/colleague. How did the conflict affect your work? How was the conflict resolved?

Situation (or task/problem): During a project for one of my classes, there was a conflict between myself and a team member in my group about the write up of our report. The conflict was getting bigger by the day and it was effecting how well the report was being written.
