Researching the impact of advertising
When choosing the adverts that I used for this assignment I tried to select products which where all very different and aimed at attending to different aspects of one’s life, from a social point of view to the way you look, smell and feel. The products I decided to use all differ in a big way, my first product was a form of social technology, my second a deodorant and my last advert being an alcoholic drink. All three of my chosen adverts address some aspect of life which is very important to people living in this time. These are all items which address needs which affect me personally and people of my generation. There are many aspects to consider when analysing an advertisement such as who it’s aiming to target? What are its objectives and what needs does it address? These are all questions which I considered when looking at my chosen visual adverts. There are many aspects of an advert which work together to create the want for a product, it all comes together to achieve a feeling of desire which provokes the viewer to go out and buy what they are being told by the media that they need. The human mind can be manipulated into convincing itself that what it wants or desires is now a need, this is done through successful marketing and advertising of a brand or product.
