Subject of Article: The country's growing list of environmental problems

Write Up- India in Peril

Summary:

The article discusses the many problems that India is facing environmental and lots of other issues. India suffers from major pollution and liter. The Ganges river is suffering from a big pollution problem, because people have funerals and dead bodies are put into the river, along with people bathing in the river and animals; cows especially; are swimming and going to the bathroom in the river. India also suffers from a lack of effort from the people with contributing with helping with the cut down of pollution and garbage. One major problem though for India and their issues is their population. It states that, "India's population grows by 1,815 [people] per hour." that is a massive amount of people. The country can't keep up with the rapid amount of people living there and people aren't doing anything to help stop it. The only people that are at least trying to help though are really only the well - off people that will adopt, but other wise all the lower class and poor aren't even bothering and just continue to have children.

Analysis:

This article put a new perspective on the world for me. I never truely knew how bad of a over population India is suffering from, until now. I always understood that they had a rather great sum of people but to believe that they have just about the same amount of people in China if not more, is just astonishing to me. I never would have thought this and it makes me think about how we only have about 320 million people only in the U.S.. That's a huge difference! This event could be bad for our country because people might need to migrate to some other place...
