SENIOR MERCHANDISER

My role at Dunelm started as a 3 month contract which has since been extended to enable me to run the bathroom, bedding protectors, Quilts and Pillows category. Leading a team of merchandisers and adhering to the critical path and KPI set by the business, my role has been to establish procedures and processes to build the backbone of the department which has had a high staff turnover. One of the most crucial areas of this role has been to control stock levels from China and India which previously had become unmanageable. Now working to agreed intake and setting the example for other teams.

• Ensuring that the customer is always put first ensuring all products are available.

• Management of stock intake, negotiating MOQ’s and cbm loads. Developing relationships with supplier to use a consolidation centre. Ensuring that slow selling and ending lines are allocated to stores to sell through.

• Using a WSSI/Line card to ensure stock flow is in line will business requirements.

• Accountable for two merchandisers, including recruitment, appraisals and mentoring.

• Merchandising control for the range review, ensuring forecasts are reviewed and implemented
