You saw me before I saw you. That day in the airport , you had that look in your eyes, as though you wanted something from me, as though you wanted it for a long time. No one had ever looked at me like that before, with that kind of intensity. It unsettled me, surprised me I guess. Those blue eyes, icy blue, looking back at me as if I could warm them up.

You blinked quickly when I looked at you turned away as if you were nervous. I fell for it. Its funny but I always thought I could trust blue eyes. I thought they were safe somehow. The dark eyes are for the villains.. The grim reaper, joker, zombies, all dark. There was a strange sort of familiarity about you, but who were you? My eyes kept flitting back to your face.

The lights started turning into blazes of fire and I remember the air conditioning chilling my arms. Your hand came tight around mine and that's when you grabbed me and stole me away.

I don't remember much after that. But what I do remember is the waking up part. And the heat, it clawed at my throat. It made me want to black out. And then there was the pain the nausea.. I closed my eyes and tried breathing deeply. I mentally checked down my body. My arms were there, legs, feet. I wriggled my fingers. All working. My legs were bare. I felt the sheet beside me and I rested my hand against the top of my thigh. My skin went hot and sticky almost immediately

I gripped the sheet and swung my head around. Trying to find you. My eyes still weren't seeing properly. You were behind me I could hear that. And then the truth came out.. How did I not know? I knew I recognized you the moment I caught a glimpse of your face. You looked at me with guilt in your eyes and said

"Gemma, its me, daddy"...
