There are many beneficial uses for the http://travel.state.gov website and the information given. As a company, if you were considering locating employees overseas, this would be an important website to conduct some research on the country you are considering in reference to travel. Laws, regulations, and other information would also be key points before locating the employee overseas. There is information on warnings and alerts for both short term and long term travels. Companies would not want to locate their employee overseas in an unsafe environment. Many countries are unsafe for travel, especially as an American.

The travel alert portion of this website is an important feature if one were to travel for a short term stay as they warn about possible strikes, health alerts, or even risk of terrorist attacks. A company would need to be aware and consider their employees’ safety at all times. A possible expatriate should also be required or highly recommended to review this website prior to any decisions to travel abroad. It is imperative to understand as much about the culture, possible unrest and uprisings, and the country in general before you travel or live there. Also, deciding when a good time to live or locating your employee, is important because it can make a tremendous difference in the success and stability of their stay.
