Strategic Plan I: Conceptualizing a Business

People think about many things when they have Vietnam in their thoughts. They think about the tropical climate where the humidity and the temperature make it so hot, that as soon as they step off the plane, they are already sweating. They think about the Vietnam War where many Americans were killed and that the war was lost. But one of the most delicious things that people think about when they think about Vietnam is the food. The signature cultural dish that Vietnam is famous for is Pho and spreading this soup to people who have not tasted it before as well as good customer service is the mission of this restaurant. It can be planned by defining the business through a mission statement, creating a vision to see the business in the future, defining the values that would guide the business, addressing how it would reach customer’s needs, and analyze how all of this guides the strategy.

The first step in conceptualizing a Pho restaurant would be to develop the mission statement for the business. The goal of the business would be to provide for the customers a taste of what Vietnam is like. The restaurant would be decorated with pictures of the landscape of Vietnam and the waiters would be dressed in traditional Vietnamese garb. The restaurant would be specializing in Pho, which is the main cultural dish of the Vietnamese people. It is mainly beef noodle soup that has specially seasoned soup that has meatballs, beef, tripe, vegetables, as well as hoisin sauce, and chili sauce added for flavor. In addition to Pho, the restaurant offers other items to the menu such as spring rolls, vermicelli noodles, and broken rice with barbeque ribs. In the mission statement, the restaurant would agree to provide the freshest meat and organic vegetables as well as authentic Vietnamese cooking. As for the service, this...
