Getting Started:

With Office Communicator you will be able to:

• Send instant messages to other Office Communicator users

• Hold audio or video (if one or more pilot members has a personal web camera) meetings between a small number of people (2-6 people recommended)

Audio/ Video Setup*:

Ensure your headset (and webcam if needed) are configured using the software instructions provided. You should also run the Set Up Audio and Video tuning wizard to test and/or adjust your microphone and/or speakerphone. Click the Menu button in the OC title bar and select Tools>Set up Audio and Video. A window will open where you can set and test speaker and microphone levels.

Manage Your Contact List:

Add a Person to Your Contact List:

Type the contact’s name in the Search box. When the name appears in the Search Results box, click and drag it into the contact list. If you have contact groups, you may drag the contact into the appropriate group.

Create a Custom Contact Group:

In the Contact List, right-click a group name and select Create New Group. Type a name for the group, and then press ENTER. Add contacts to the group by dragging them from their current group to the new group.

Customize Presence Information:

Your Presence is comprised of a Presence button, whose color (red, green, etc) is a general indication of availability; a Presence status message; a Location icon; and a note which you can customize.

Change Your Presence Status:

Presence status changes for OC Users will occur automatically when they make Communicator calls and attend meetings scheduled on their Outlook Calendar.

Set Your Location:

Click your Presence button, select Current Location from the menu, and then select a location (home or office) or create a customized location.

Customize Access Levels:

Access levels are used to control the Presence information that others can see.
