1. How can Internet technologies be involved in improving a process in one of the functions of business? Choose one example and evaluate its business value.

-Many companies today are using Internet technologies to create interenterprise business systems for supply chain management that help a company streamline its traditional supply chain process. Many companies are today are reengineering their supply chain process, aided by Internet technologies and supply chain management software. The demands of today’s competitive business environment are pushing manufactures to use their intranets, extranets, and e-commerce Web portals to help them reengineer their relationships with their supply, distributors, and retailers. The objective is to reduce cost, increase efficiency and improve their supply chain cycle times. The result is much more effective distribution and channel networks among business partners.

2. What are several e-business applications that you might recommend to a small company to help it survive and succeed in challenging economic times? Why?

-First e-business application I would recommend for a small business is customer relationship management CRM. I think this application will improve the company’s focus on customers. CRM uses Information Technologies to create a cross-function enterprise system that integrates most of the customer servicing processes. If you have a great relationship with the customer they will be more loyal and come back to your business more often.

Second e-business application I would recommend is Supply chain management SCM it will help support and manage links between some of the companies’ key business suppliers, customers and business relationships. With SCM it will crate a fast, efficient and low-cost network of business relationships. Fixing the supply chain can save the company a lot of money.
