Abstract

The issue of climatic change is a complex cultural, political and social phenomena that tend to reshape the way we think about the society, ourselves, relations between biophysics, political and socio- economic and humanity’s space on the earth. However, it is prudent to restate that the heat intensity on earth gradually increases with time leading to altered weather and climatic conditions. The paper will particularly identify and relate the controversy between science and technology to global warming. In addition, the main focus will be based on texts obtained from Hulme (2009) based on reasons as to why people disagree about climatic change, Ford (2011) which is about policy making at the edge of chaos, Hallam and Ingold (2008) on creativity and cultural improvisation.

Literature Review

Climatic change being experienced presently is totally different from what it used to be a century or decade ago. The rate of ozone layer depletion is alarming due to the adverse effects of industrialization among other practices that are unhealthy to the eco-system globally. Socio-cultural and political practices are confirmed scientifically to be the main influential causes of the worsening rate of ozone layer depletion. Science and technological interventions should be encouraged to facilitate the reduction process so that the alarming rate of depletion would be reduced drastically.
