Introduction outlining activities during the workshop.

The following report is based upon my learning experiences during the ‘Creative Communication in International Business’ workshop.

The workshop began with an introduction to communicate and become acquainted with others. It was a discussion with individuals whom I’ve not met before and mixing in with different characteristics, cultures and putting myself out there in a different diverse atmosphere.

The workshop started off with a warm up and allocated ourselves accordingly in to certain themes, such as language, shoe size etc. Then played a ‘1-2-3’ game involving an alteration, substituting a number with an action, After, I myself told a ‘scary story’ where my partner had to finish of my unplanned story and switched roles. Next, a scenario was presented of a leader collecting ideas, discussing the form of communication and what it meant for myself. Following this, I contributed in a discussion to see if culture and individuality impacted a point of view, and afterwards, different perspectives. Another scenario was presented, this time discussing how to develop understanding. Finally I reflected on what I learnt, what I need to learn to develop myself further.

Skills and abilities learnt during the workshop, emphasizing the importance in multinational organisations.

I learnt throughout this workshop that communication is vital; it is a way to represent yourself, the way others see you as and can also show emotion, expressing how strongly you feel, the form of how you communicate is also reflected upon and how important something is. This is vital as different countries will respond and react inversely. During my workshop when I overlooked the scenario it indicated to me my personal perspective, I realised this is a capability a manager in a multinational organisation will show critical importance to as it indicates understanding.
