Internal Strengths and Weaknesses

SWOT Analysis allows the development of an in depth image of a organizations resources and their competitive position within the market. This paper will be discussing Starbucks, a global coffee chain in America that has developed in just a few decades to the leading coffeehouse in the world from a lonely Seattle coffee shop (Kyle Spencer, 2012). SWOT is a model that is straightforward when it assesses the things an organization can or cannot do and it establishes the organizations potential opportunities and threats (David Schwartz, 2011).

The SWOT Analysis method will take the environmental analysis information and separate it into internal strengths and weaknesses and into external issues like opportunities and threats. When the SWOT Analysis method is done it will help the business accomplish their objectives and the obstacles they need to overcome in order to get results (David Schwartz, 2011). Starbucks Coffee Company is a example of successful strategic planning through SWOT Analysis.

Starbucks Strengths

Brand Identity-This is important to Starbucks and it is future factor for the company. Starbucks maintain their brand consistently and they do it without heavy marketing (Kathleen Lee, n. d.). Starbucks is a 4-Star Brand and they have a highly developed logo, brand, trademarks, website and copyrights. Their brand name is well-known for their intense innovative products and loyalty to their customers.

High visibility locations to attract customers- Starbucks goal is to make sure that they are located everywhere. They want to make it convenient for their customers. In store convenience is very important to Starbucks for their customers (Kathleen Lee, n. d.).
