Arts & Humanities II

A) I have currently do not have my textbook, but I am working on it. I plan to have it by the end of next week.

B) My name is Darnell James-Edward Rice.

C) I got my first name from my father. My two middle names came from my grandfather (my mother’s dad). My two middle names are special to me because I never met my grandfather, so keeping those names is my way of keeping him. Finally, I got my last name from my father.

D) My first name means the hidden place. This does not fit me because I am not a hidden person. I am very outgoing person that loves to socialize and meet new people.

E) My theme song would have to be A Million Dollars by Big Sean. Big Sean is a artist from Detroit. I can relate to this song because in the song he says “I’m gone make a million and one dollars and do it again, just wait til tomorrow we won’t borrow ever again”. I choose this song because growing up in the inner city of Detroit times were very hard and I just want to be successful so that my family won’t have to struggle ever again.

I) I honestly didn’t know anything about this class before I enrolled. I personally didn’t bother to find out anything because I was taking this class because I had to.

J) The first thing that stands out about me is my ability to succeed academically. I graduated from CMA High School with a 3.75gpa and a 21 ACT. I had scholarship offers to twelve different schools. Some of the schools were Michigan State University, Western Michigan University, and Wayne State University. After graduating I went to Wayne State University. I transferred here to NCCU because my mother wanted me to leave the state for a new...
