The United States Army is built up based on accountability. Accountability is mostly looked at as responsibility. Accountable for your actions; being responsible for what you do either good or the bad and excepting the consequences. Being Accountable is held for a person to perform as expected of their job or task in life. I think being accountable is important because it helps the people above you and the people in charge of you not to have to worry and not to have to do as much work. Being accountable shows signs of maturity, and shows signs of being a good soldier. Accountability is a big thing in the army as well as the military in general . The army sees accountability as money. Every thing in the army that is issued to you, and that is expected to be turned back in cost the army money. You are looked at as costing the army money because of the money they put up for your training and welfare, so in all actuality if something happens to you saying if you get hurt, wounded or put out of the fight you are inevitably costing the united states army money. So you are looked at to be responsible enough to keep accountability for everything you have including your self, so you do not cost the military any more un-needed money than it has already costed. The army also sees accountability as time. Using soldiers time to look for a lost accountable item such as a weapon is costing the army much needed time. You are held accountable for your items, so in turn loosing any of them items will cost you and or other soldiers time to look for them. Time soldiers could be using to do other things such as training, checking on their trucks, or you could be taking up their personal time they have to relax, shower, and talk to their families. It can get very aggravating, frustrating, and annoying when you mess with other peoples time.
