Attribution refers to how people interpret another’s behaviors. It is not necessarily based on reality, but on perception. In an effort to explain an individual’s actions or behaviors attribution theory explores how people are judged based on perceptions. Perception is a critical component to any professional relationship because it is the basis of reality.
