Kudler Fine Foods is a company with great potential and when looking at the potential of this company we must look at growth. Growth cannot happen without some changes throughout the company. These changes are primarily in its current accounting system or the lack thereof. When looking at purchasing an Information System for your business there are many things to consider. One of those things being a system that is flexible because this will ensure a design that will function well with your current business procedures and those to come. I believe that a way to do everything that Kudler Fine Foods needs is to purchase components of a Retail Enterprise Marketing System (REMS). Purchasing this type of system will allow your company the ability to spend only where is necessary in order to operate at a precise functional level. These components can be purchased separately and include a general ledger, accounts payable, receivables, and a point of service (POS). Over the course of this paper we will look at how these components and features can create a well-organized system that will enable you to company to monitor its growth and potential earnings.

General Leger Component

The first component of this system is the general ledger. The general leger is where all the data can and will be organized for retrieval throughout anytime it is needed. This component provides financial information for the accounting department immediately and as early as the time of purchase. This allows for generation of daily reports like cash flow, balance sheets, income statements, daily transactions, or trends. This information can then be taken to evaluate each store’s performance and see where the store may be doing bad or may be doing well.
