The story of The Dolphin commences in the coral reef near a remote island, unspoiled by humans. In the immensity of the sea, the first sun rays illuminate the day that begins for Daniel Alexander Dolphin. His days passed placidly dedicating itself to fish and to surf, an activity that Daniel had learned when he was a very young dolphin. However Daniel Dolphin was quite the dreamer, one who was sure that there was definitely more to his life than just sleeping and eating, so his intention in life was to enjoy the freedom he experienced while surfing. He realized that the dolphin circle at the pod were not open to travelling away from pod to follow any of their dreams. His friend Michael who had surfed with him when they were just growing up had his days filled with fishing and found some excuse for not surfing. Even though Daniel explained how dreaming provides the joy to living and how free he felt when he was surfing to his friend, Michael was not ready to accept the perspective and Daniel was misunderstood.
