Organizational Psychology

Organizational Psychology developed from the movement of the human relations in organizations puts the employee’s interest in the Industrial Psychology, which deals with understanding the behavior and strengthens the welfare of employees in the workplace. Organizational issues include employee attitudes, behavior, work stress and monitoring techniques.

However, the main themes of the area cannot be strictly categorized as industrial or organizational. For example, motivation is important for matters of Industrial Psychology in relation to the efficiency and performance of employees, but also of great relevance in Organizational Psychology concern for the happiness and welfare of employees. According to Jex and Britt (2008). “Also, in many instances, employees in successful organizations are more satisfied and fulfilled in their work than employees in less successful organizations.”(p. 1). Although the two areas cannot always differentiate because clearly offer a united vision of the extensive nature of their field.

Organizational psychology, away from focusing on studies of the organization as such, focuses on individuals as members of it. Thanks to the advancement of the theory focused on total quality and reengineering processes, it has become clear that it is better considered as part of the company or institution not only to provide services in it, but also those who are the beneficiaries of their products and services (clients, consumers, users, or beneficiaries) and who act as their suppliers (materials, economic, human and intellectual resources).

Besides, organizational psychology works in the Human Resources Administration, studying the location of qualified people in jobs according to their abilities, giving guidelines to optimize the system of incentives for employees, enhancing...
