Hamartiology: The Problem of Evil (Theodicy) – Your neighbor Sam greets you outside as you return home from church one Sunday. After the usual chitchat, he confides in you that he has been troubled with the news, recent reports of natural catastrophes, wars, disease, and so on. He asks if you could help him make sense of the presence of evil in the world - if indeed God exists

Hamartiology

What I would tell my friend Sam is that must understand that evil exists and is present in this world. Revelations vividly states that evil acts towards fellow human beings would worsen as The End approaches. I would also tell Sam that it is not difficult to see that the end of the world is here. I will also explain to Sam that a lot of mankind has lost the love of God and have falling into the arms of sin. We take God out of everything we do now. For example, we have taken God out of our government and out of our schools. We as God’s creation have to realize that when we exclude God it is impossible to lead a pleasing life that would be rewarded with in our after-life. Instead, many fellow human beings have chosen to misuse our God-giving free-will to commit sin and evil acts towards one another. There are two types of evils that exist in our world. These are Moral Evil and Natural evil.

Moral evil are wrong-doings done by fellow humans who misuse free-will to harm fellow humans. This kind of evil is one where the humans behind the evil doings are totally in control of the outcome of the situation and choose not to act according to the commandments of God. Some examples of Moral Evil include, rape, murder, and robbery. Natural Evil on the other hand is where there is nobody to blame but, nature. The victims of natural evil are still human beings who just happen to be in an unfortunate situation. Some examples of natural evils are Disease, Hurricanes and Earthquakes.
