Over many centuries, human societies across the globe have established gradually closer contact with each other. Recently, the pace of global integration has dramatically increased. There have been changes in communications, transportation, and computer technology which has taken this process to new heights and made the world more interdependent. Multinational corporations manufacture products in a variety of countries and sell to consumers all across the globe. The trade of money, technology and raw materials has become swifter across borders. Globalization has along with products and finances led to the melding of many ideas and cultures which in turn has had an effect on laws, economies, social movements, education and the overall livelihood of the people.

Globalization has intensified competition around the world. Because of the practically non-existent barriers and global spread of technology which makes it just as easy to create a work force across the world as it would be to create one across companies. Students are not only competing with others in their city or state but with students in Singapore, Shanghai, New Delhi and the Caribbean. The increase in emerging markets has led to the need to prepare students for jobs that require new skill sets and also a more diverse classroom. Globalization has also resulted in the increase for managerial jobs. However, where prior to this new global frontier managers usually worked within their country, the present day changes has led to managers being flown out to deal with issues in other countries. Not only that but it has led to a new breed of diversification. Managers not only have to deal with different genders and races but now they have to deal with people of various cultures and nationalities.
