Definition

The first part of the presentation done was about responsibilities of spouses as stated in Quran and Hadith. Basically the worthiest condition of marriage to be fulfilled by the husband is to "keep the promise or promises he made to the wife at the time he married her." This is an order of the Prophet (s) according to the hadith: "ahaqqu al-shuruti an tufu bihi ma astahlaltum bihi min al-furuj“The rights of the husband upon his wife are greater than the rights of the wife upon her husband for the simple reason that Allah, the Almighty, stated in the Glorious Quran what means: “…And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority]. And Allah is exalted in Might and Wise." [Quran 2: 228]. It is an essential right of man over his wife to be obeyed so long as his commands do not conflict or contradict the commands of Allah, the Almighty, Allah’s Messenger and the general teachings and codes of ethics of Islam.

Then the presentation was continued with the right of marriage. What was contained in this part is based on mahar which branched to mahar misil , mahar musamma, Half mahar and mut’ah. Mahar is something that can be useful to the wife given from the husband, mahar misil is count according to her sisters which is already get married,mahar musamma is agreed by both side of the families without considering the mahar of her married sister. If the couple divorce before intercourse, the man must pay half of the agreed mahar. Mut’ah is a gift from husband to wife if the husband divorcing his wife.
