Heart Lab Report

This report discusses the dissection of a cow heart. Dissecting a cow heart is an important factor when learning about the functioning of the heart. Doing this dissection gives the student a better understanding of what the heart looks like. The teacher will give the students a lab packet to be able to follow along. Using a scalpel, the students will be able to cut the heart and see what the inside looks like. One will be able to see all of the different parts of the heart.

This dissection is very diverse and requires many steps. In order to perform this procedure correctly, one must follow each step. Doing this dissection will help the students learn how important the heart is. This dissection will also help one have a deeper understanding of what the heart looks like.

In order to perform this dissection correctly, one must have the right materials. The student’s need a lab packet and utensil to write and record information. The two most important materials needed are goggles and gloves so one is protected the entire time during the lab. The gloves are used to keep the student’s hands clean. The goggles are used to protect one’s eyes. The student then needs a dissecting tray, scalpel, a probe and a ruler. The dissecting tray is used to place the heart and scalpel in. The scalpel was used for cutting the heart. The ruler is used to measure parts of the heart for results. The probe is used for pointing.

There are numerous steps that need to be completed to perform this dissection correctly. Once the student walks into the lab, one needs to put on a pair of goggles and gloves. Then, the student needs to get a lab packet and a utensil and walk to the lab bench assigned. The student then needs to get a dissecting tray with the heart and scalpel inside and bring that back to the lab bench. One of the most important steps the student needs to do is measure the heart.
