Mafiaboy is an alias used by Michael Demon Calce. Calce is a high school student from West Island Quebec who launched a series of denial of service attacks on high profiled cooperation which made the news of the day in February of the year 2000. Calce a sixteen years old juvenile launched his attack on the websites Yahoo, Fifa.com, Amazon.com, Dell inc, ETrade, eBay and CNN and some other failed attacks that were lunched on different servers.

Basically, Mafiaboy was caught because he bragged about his attacks on an internet chat room which lead the authorities to him. Mafiaboy copycatted the denial of service attack that disrupted web usage to commit his crime got him two years in juvenile detention and $675 USD fine; and also the confiscation of his computer and a ban from the use of a computer without supervision.

First of all, Phreak is a word coined by the words phone and freak, which is a term use to describe the act of using various audio frequencies to manipulate phone system. The official Phreaker’s manual contain compilation of phreak material and public resources. Information such as ways to Phreak a phone system which are detailed in the manual can help the administrative sector of communication system to prevent individual from phreaking their phone system. The manual also contains codes which are used by Phreakers. With the knowledge of this code to the security administrator, the administrator can safely find methods to prevent the codes from been used to phreak the communication system. The manual also contains information on how to be a phreak, how to phone tap, how make infinity transmitter and other various information that is patterning to phreaking.

With this information, a security administrator can find a way to stop and prevent phreakers from phreaking the phone system.
