How to cite a lecture in a bibliography using APA

The formatting for an APA citation of a lecture is based upon the formatting used for an "unpublished contribution to a symposium", with some slight modifications. The most basic entry for a lecture consists of the speaker name, date conducted, lecture title, event, sponsor, and city.

Last Name, F. (Date Conducted). Lecture Title. Event. Lecture conducted from Sponsor, City.

The speaker's name should be reversed, with the last name coming first, followed by a comma. First names and any middle names are given as initials, each followed by a period. A suffix, such as a roman numeral or Jr./Sr. should appear after the speaker's first and middle initials, preceded by a comma.

For a lecture conducted by two or more speakers, separate them by comma, and use an ampersand before the last speaker's name. If more than six speakers are cited, abbreviate the seventh speaker and any others that follow with "et al."

After the speakers are listed, include in parentheses the publication date. List the year first, followed by a comma and then the month. Place a period outside of the parentheses. Then cite the title of the lecture (or if there is no title, the subject or description of the lecture), followed by a period.

After the title/description, italicize the event name (or if it is a class lecture, the class/course name) and follow it with period. Then include the text "Leture conducted from", followed by the institution that sponsored the lecture (which would be the school/university, if it is a class lecture). Place...
