Subject: Comparison of web-conferencing programs

On February 20, the business development manager informed the business solution team of his interest to use web conferencing to hold weekly status meetings instead of onsite meetings. The business solution team was assigned to analyze four of the main web conferencing programs and recommend the best software that fits the business needs. As a result, I have reviewed: Adobe Connect, Cisco WebEx Meeting Center, Citrix GoToMeeting, and Microsoft Lync. I believe all of the mentioned software will deliver most of the business needs. Based on my findings, I suggest utilizing Microsoft Lync.

The Following points summarize my analysis.

1. Cost of Software

Microsoft Lync is the most cost-effective option. At $5.5 per user, Microsoft Lync is the cheapest of all four software. Furthermore, Lync provides complete integration with our infrastructure. Such properties will shield us from purchasing middle software thus offering more savings than the other software.

2. Compatibility

Microsoft Lync is compatible with our Microsoft office products such as Outlook, Visio, Excel, Word, etc… In addition, Lync allows users to access our Cisco Unified Communication service directly from the Lync's interface, which will increase productivity and enhance collaborations.

3. Performance

Because Microsoft Lync can be integrated with our current environment, I anticipate higher performance and ROI with Lync compared to Adobe Connect and Cisco WebEx Meeting.
