Due to the extensive fire and subsequent water damage caused from extinguishing the fire, the fire dept had to have all of the power cut off at the street. Which at any a time of the year would hamper restoration efforts but due to the extreme cold could actually cause further damage with pipes bursting, ice, mold and many issues caused with lingering dampness.

Using a trailer mounted diesel fueled temporary power generators and a temporary distribution panel Academy Electric was able to supply the power needed for emergency lighting, air movers, heating and dehumidification equipment as well as power for the construction equipment.
