Abstract

People often wonder what is rural tourism, nature based travel, adventure travel, alternative tourism mean. New kinds of tourism which can be included under alternative tourism have rising abruptly in this few years. One kind of them is ecotourism. Ecotourism is all about advocating conservation, uniting communities, and remain sustainable travel. Ecotourism help to build environmental and cultural awareness as well as respect. It also provides direct financial benefits for conservation. Raise sensitivity to the environmental and social climate is also one of its important roles. In this research, we will use the contingent valuation method (CVM) to value the conservation, environmental management and tourist satisfaction of Putrajaya Wetlands. The contingent valuation method (CVM) is used to estimate economic values for all kinds of ecosystem and environmental services.

Introduction

Nowadays, the growing popularity and conservation potential has providing a great opportunity to develop the ecotourism. Experts on the field, environment conservationist and government agencies have attempting to define ecotourism in various definitions. Ecotourism be connected to the travel of natural. Nature beauties are always the main attraction. Ecotourism aimed to avoid the damaging of ecosystem. However, ecotourism also bring positive and negative impacts to the environment. The positive impacts are like income generated through ecotourism benefits the locals, create a better life for the local through the building of school, roads and hospitals because of the development of ecotourism, and also the preservation of biodiversity.
