Why were you persecuted?

My name is Adamina Babicz and I live with my mother, father and younger brother Isaiah. My family and I are being prosecuted because I am a Jew, not only that but because of my religious beliefs. I am being prosecuted because I am not the “perfect” person in Hitler's eyes. I do not have blonde hair, I do not have blue eyes, I do not fit his standards.

Where did you go? Describe your experience at the camp. What happened to your family? How did the United States respond to your experience?

The took us from our home and shoved us into train crafts, it was crowded and were being squished by the other families inside. When we arrived at the camp Isaiah and I were separated from our parents, we were afraid we'd never see them again. We had only been there for a couple of hours and I had already heard rumors about others being killed in the camp. This place was absolutely horrid! There was no food, it was cold and we slept on wooden beds. I was almost sure this was our last stop before death. Soon after the United States came and liberated the camps.

What will your future bring? Predict what you think will happen to you now that you have been liberated. How has the world changed since your imprisonment? How have you changed?

The nightmare is finally over and I've got to say, I thought it would never be. The U.S came and liberated the camps and set us free. We were finally reunited with both our mother and father and we were one of the lucky ones. This experience was definitely an eye opener. I wouldn't wish what me and my family had to go through to my worst enemy! I now appreciate all the I have and all the I'm blessed with. I've learned that I definitely can be much worse than it already is.
