BUSINESS COMMUNICAION: BALL CORPORATION

1) How do you think a small margin for error affects communication on a project?

A small margin of error has been proven to have affect communication. Ball Corporation states clearly that there is no room for errors and everyone is informed of it. Because there is no room for errors everyone has to be real accurate when they are sharing information and authorizing assignments. The employees of Ball Corporation must pay attention to every detail because every little details counts. Having room for error allows the management team to be less detailed with their employees and the employees won’t pay much attention as they should.

2) In what ways do you act differently in a face – to – face meeting than you do during a telephone conference call?

A telephone conference call and a Face – to – face meeting differ. During a telephone conference call the individual tend to be a bit relaxed and may not act very professional or even dress less professional. With face – to – face meetings a professional attire is always required as well as a professional demeanor because everyone else in the meeting is able to see you. During Face – to – face meetings each individual also have a greater chance at sharing new ideas with management and co-workers as well as receiving critic’s that can help better themselves and show improvements.

3) Why is written communication essential in some situations (such as conveying specifications) while oral communication is essential in others (such as technology interchanging transfers)?

When transferring specifications, written communication is crucial because it makes it easier for the receiver to follow the details and steps if any because everything is been written down while oral communication is essential to others. When technology is being transferred, so is knowledge and skills which are better captured by example or hands on training.
