Introduction

Aadhaar Number is a 12-digit unique number which the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will issue for every resident, linked to the resident's demographic and biometric information, which they can use to identify them anywhere in India, and to access a host of benefits and services. The number will be stored in a centralised database and linked to the basic demographics and biometric information – photograph, ten fingerprints and iris – of each individual. Aadhaar will be:  A random number generated, devoid of any classification based on caste, creed, religion and geography.  Easily verifiable in an online, cost-effective way.  Unique and robust enough to eliminate the large number of duplicate and fake identities in government and private databases. Proposed Benefits of the Aadhaar number to the holder:  Proof of Identity (name with face photograph),  Proof of Age (date of birth or estimated age),  Proof of Residence (presently staying). Considering this Unique Identification program undertaken by the Indian Government this project has been written in the objective to get a preliminary understanding of the “Relationship

between Educational Qualification and Aadhaar Enrolment”

Due to limited Literature on this particular topic and the very specific nature of it this study has been designed to be of an exploratory nature.
