Business Ethics and the Law

Human have been talking about ethics for a long time, «ethics» and «behavior» mean different things to different folks. Ethics it is an intellectual process to help us find the best way to live up to our core and most often to our shared values in our social and cultural surroundings. Ethics is a personal and collective responsibility that calls for leadership, judge and dialogue. Ethics is what you aspire to do.

Hence we can say about business ethics. Business ethics is the study of business situations, activities, and decisions, where issue of right or wrong are addressed. Businessmen usually recognize the moral value of promise keeping because it facilitates making contracts and commercial activity which increase wealth. Improved business performance, profits and economic progress come to those who effectively and efficiently foster and meet the reasonable expectations of their primary stakeholders – customers, employees, suppliers, investors and environment. A company needs to consider the interests of all these different stakeholders. Some businessmen have a highly developed sense of ethics and operate their business in accordance with their personal ethical rules.

Business owners and managers have learned that a business ethics program helps owners and manager improve their business performance, make profits, and contribute to economic progress by better:

* Recognizing political, economic, social, and technological pressures

* Understanding organizational culture: core beliefs, participation, responsibility, knowledge sharing, and methods of dealing with conflict

* Fostering reasonable stakeholder expectations

* Developing responsible management practices to meet stakeholder expectations

* Learning from enterprise decisions and activities
