The Ban on Gay Marriages

The issue of gay marriage has been a continuous issue for years. The issues with gay marriages has been religious bigotry, society’s views, and ethical views. Many religious groups have made the biggest opposition of whether these marriages should be legalized or not. The Alliance Defending Freedom is a group that is against gay marriage and the traditional view that marriage is between one man and one woman. During a hearing in Norfolk, Virginia a lawyer for this group stated, "We respectfully disagree that there is a fundamental right to same-sex marriage," [Austin R. Nimocks]. In fact, he said, "I don't believe there's any question that there's not a fundamental right to same-sex marriage." (Dujardin, P., 2014) Society’s views on gay marriages have been pretty much not as bad because many actors and actresses have come out as gay such as Rosie O’Donnell and Ellen Degeneres. Ethically, the decisions have been split up some believe that as long as the couple is happy why not and consider it discrimination not to let them while others do not believe that it is appropriate for our children to see and learn about.

Applying Creativity to Problems

I would want to use a fresh approach. I would encourage readers to get all the facts both good and bad. That way, they can make their own decisions of what is best for both oppositions. Another thing I would do is encourage them to think about if they were in the situation of being gay and wanting to get married to their partner. I would make them think about it from that perspective. I would also like to put in links to other articles that pertain to the issue at hand. I would encourage readers to give me their opinions on the topic so that I can integrate the readers’ views and allow myself to be more of an interest to them. I would also want to try and redefine the oppositions that are being stated from both sides...
