Sarah’s attitude towards curfew was obedience; she has never been in any real trouble before. She get’s good grades in her honor’s courses and she’s a rule-follower. I think Sarah did not think about or understand the consequences of her actions. She was the type of girl that followed the rules and did what she was supposed to do. I believe that she was a loner, and did not have any real friends. Her first impression had to count, in order to make some new friends. She just started her sophomore year and she felt the need to impress new people. Making new friends can be exciting and the chance to go to get to know them. Sarah has never been to a party before, nor stayed out late past curfew, she felt the need to impress this new crowd by trying something new. Sarah displayed cognitive dissonance by having new and exciting friends that invited her to a late night party. She wanted to be accepted by them. Even though this might be exciting to Sarah, she was worried about staying out late and how her decision might get her caught. Sarah knew that she was going to be in trouble with her parents once she returned home. Sarah was having fun at the party but she was worried about disobeying her parents, by staying out past curfew. Sarah conformed to her peers’ belief by agreeing to go to the party. Her friends told her she would be missing out if she did not attend this party, so Sarah gave into peer pressure. She knew that disobeying her parents was wrong, but she wanted to impress her new friends. She thought about all the fun she would have at the party and decided to go.

Some of the reasons were that Jack was interested in Sarah because she was beautiful. Both Jack and Sarah lived in the same neighborhood. When they started talking they realized
